Class Farm Machinery club to meet March 2
IRON RIVER— The Classic Farm Machinery of Iron County club will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 2, at the VFW.
The Classic Farm Machinery of Iron County is entering its fifth year as a nonprofit organization. As a group, it participates in all the major functions of Iron County. The organization starts out the year with the Father’s Day show at the Iron County Fairgrounds in June followed with the Fourth of July parade.
During the rodeo parade in July, the group displays its tractors and other items at the VFW during its brat-and-corn feed.
The Iron County Fair presents another opportunity to display the club’s machinery. The club wraps up the summer at the Iron County Museum, where it presents a “down home on the farm” thrashing demonstration utilizing the museum’s 1890s wood sided thrasher powered by an antique “hit and miss” engine that has been restored, along with private individual restorations and tractors.
The CFM/IC is open to any future members with classic farm machinery, not just tractors.
The club has members from Wisconsin and Dickinson County. CFM/IC meets the first Monday of the month at the VFW at 7 p.m. For more information, call Greg Kramer at 265-2221.
