CF Library to host author readings

CRYSTAL FALLS — The Crystal Falls Community Library will host three author readings on Dec. 14 during Crystal Christmas festivities.
The featured guest will be Erika Sauter at 10 a.m. Sauter will read from her book, “The Moose and the Goose.”  It is a charming story of friendship, humility and forgiveness.
“This children’s book makes an excellent stocking stuffer for all the children on your list,” said Evelyn Gathu, library director. “We will also have some Christmas stories, snacks, and a Christmas craft to make.”
At 3:30 p.m., the library will host authors Carl Behrend of Munising and Jonathan Wagner of Florence, Wis. Behrend will read from his novel, “The Legend of the Christmas Ship.” This novel has action, suspense, romance and adventure. It is a family holiday tale crafted from the legends, lore and the true events surrounding the famous Christmas Tree Ship. Climb aboard for a journey from Upper Michigan to Chicago’s Clark Street Bridge.
Next, Wagner will give a reading from his book, “Dogging It: Through Divorce and Beyond.” Wagner was scheduled to give this reading in November, but the event was rescheduled due to poor weather. Wagner’s book celebrates not only his own Labrador Retrievers, but the labs of his three children as well.
“A fun session not only for Labrador lovers, but for all canine fans,” Gathu said. “You will be able to meet one of his beloved labs at the reading!”
All authors will have books available for purchase after their presentation and will be available for signings.
There will be coffee and treats and plenty of comfortable chairs. Additionally, various Christmas and holiday books, music CDs and DVDs will be on display and available for checkout.
