Catch the fun at 55th Bass Festival

CRYSTAL FALLS—It’s that time of year again for a weekend of fishing and fun at the 55th annual Bass Festival in Crystal Falls.
The event, hosted by the Crystal Falls Lions Club, starts Friday, July 5, and continues through Sunday, July 7. Most events take place over the weekend, and many of them are held at Runkle Lake Park.
Concessions will be available at the park, including brats boiled in beer, hamburgers, hot dogs, pop, coffee and other refreshments.
At the heart of Bass Festival is the fishing contest. Pre-registration is required for all participants. Register at Crystal Bait and Marine and at Michi-Aho. There is a $5 entry fee, but children 16 and under can enter for free. All fish entered in the contest must be registered at the bait shop before freezing.
Don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket with a first prize of $1,000. There will also be a raffle for a paddle board.
