Bringing messages of joy and support during ‘Car Parade’
A car parade for friends and family members of those living at Victorian Heights Assisted Living, Skyway Rehab and the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls was held on May 21. Signs on the vehicle offered messages to the facility’s residents awaiting and waving. “As health care providers, our number one goal is to keep our tenants and residents healthy, but as humans, it is our goal to keep them happy,” said Lindsey Anderson of the Iron County Medical Care Facility. “This parade provided a healthy way to make them happy. To see the smiles and pure joy brought on by a wave or a heartfelt poster, that was what today was all about. Well over 100 cars came through our parking lots and residents danced, tenants laughed, and families connected.” The Iron County Sheriff’s Department, Caspian and Crystal Falls City police departments, Michigan State Police, WIC Fire Department and DNR personnel assisted with traffic control, safety, orchestrating the entrance arch and leading the parade. “We are grateful to all who helped, all of the families and friends that came out to show their support, and the staff that worked so hard all week long getting everyone ready and helping to make today unforgettable!” Anderson said.
