Bjork to speak at Senior Adult Day

CRYSTAL FALLS—Mike Bjork of Alpha, a retired senior intelligence service officer in the Central Intelligence Agency, will be guest speaker at the Senior Adult Day on March 12 at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp.
    The event will begin with coffee fellowship at 10 a.m. in the camp dining hall and will conclude at 2 p.m. A donation of $10 is requested for the event.
    Born and raised in Alpha, Bjork graduated from Forest Park High School and served in the United States Air Force for nearly five years. After he was honorably discharged in 1978, he used the GI Bill to attend the University of Maryland. He graduated with a degree in international relations.     
    Bjork was hired by the CIA and served the agency for more than 33 years. He has indepth knowledge of the intelligence community and the Department of Defense. He has acquired extensive cross-cultural skills from personal experience on assignment and temporary duty in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa,and Latin America.
    “He speaks German, Burmese, Indonesian, Malay and, of course, Yooper!” Ruth Warmanen said.
