From bees to beading and more at Earth Day celebration
The third annual Earth Day event was held May 4 in Iron River sponsored by the West Iron District Library in conjunction with Rise-Up Iron County. A “Walk for Science” began at the Klint Safford RV Park. Walkers made their way to the West Iron District Library for a celebration that included hands-on activities and art projects for children, as well as other earth-friendly crafts for everyone. Those attending met a beekeeper, a soap maker, representatives from an organic farm, the Crystal Falls community garden and members of the Watershed Council, to name a few. Each family received a free tree seedling. There was music in the courtyard and a bake sale in the library.
