Auditions for West End Players ‘Mary Poppins’ set
IRON RIVER—The West End Players are holding auditions for their performance of the musical “Mary Poppins” on Saturday, Jan.17, starting at 9 a.m. in the Windsor Center auditorium.
The musical is open to students in grades 8-12 only. Those interested in auditioning are asked to come ready to sing a song of their choice, learn a brief dance, and read, if they are choosing a specific part.
Many volunteers will also be needed for constructing and designing sets, painting, stage crew, lights, costumes, and hair and makeup.
Twenty-eight cast members are needed, plus dancers and singers for the many chorus scenes.
The musical will be performed at the Windsor Center April 17-19. The Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 6:30 p.m., while the Sunday show will start at 2 p.m.
The musical is based on the stories of P. L. Travers and Walt Disney Film with: original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman; book by Julian Fellowers; new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stoles and Anthony Drewe; and co-created by Cameron Makintosh.
