‘Mom Prom’ set for March 24

CRYSTAL FALLS— The “Mom Prom” sponsored by the nonprofit group Raise Her UP will be held from 7-11 p.m. on March 24 at the Paint River Landing in Crystal Falls.
    This fun night out is open to ladies 21 years of age and older. The event features dancing, delicious food, cash bar and chances to win amazing prizes. Guests are welcome to wear their old prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding gowns and/or anything that makes a girl feel fabulous.
    Tickets are $25 and are available at the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, Lud Stoor Agency, Peninsula Title Agency, Hair Salon 118 and committee members Kim Bjork, Kari Divine, Stephanie Siler and Nancy Hronkin-Force.
    Checks should be made payable to DACF-Raise Her UP.
    Raise Her UP is an endowment fund with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation. Its mission is to empower young women to become leaders.
    The proceeds from the Mom Prom will be used to provide an annual scholarship to a graduating Forest Park female student, and to provide biannual leadership opportunities to female students in ninth through 11th grade. Raise Her Up will encourage the growth and development of young women leaders who positively impact their peers and community. Scholarship recipients and students selected to participate in leadership opportunities will have demonstrated leadership potential and dedication to improving their community through service.
