‘Men Who Cook’ serve up another tasty treat
It was standing room only as dinner guests at the sixth Kinship of Iron County’s “Men Who Cook” waited in line at some nine food booths inside and outside the dining room area at George Young Recreational Complex on Sept. 12. A sell-out crowd of 150 patrons along with a few extra chef helpers were on hand to raise more than $8,000 for the Kinship program through the sale of tickets, earned tips, 50/50 and donations. Kinship is a special program of volunteers who give their time and attention to children in grades 2-8 throughout Iron County. The OGWCSC Team (Old Guys Who Can Still Cook) under the leadership of Rick Kent and Mark Martini along with Chris Thomson were picked as the “earned most” team for their culinary treats of Cudighi Sliders and Pesto Slaw. Teammates and their assistants chefs pictured, from left, are Chris Kent, Chris Thomson, Rick Kent, Barb and Mark Martini and Michelle Thomson.
