Ernest Schmidt

IRON RIVER — Ernest “Ernie” G. Schmidt, 87, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery on Aug. 15, with Rev. Fr. Janusz Romanek having officiated. Ernie, George, Larry, and Gabe Schmidt, Joe Fittante, and Gary Arcand, served as pallbearers. Military Honors were presented by East Side Veterans of Crystal Falls. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Oscar G.
