IRON RIVER —  Ann Marie Ghiotto, age 88, of Gaastra passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the Aspirus Iron River Hospital. Visitation was held Saturday, June 2, from at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. The American Legion Reino Post 21 Ladies Auxiliary formed a Poppy Honor Guard at the visitation. Funeral services followed at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Veneklase offering the Mass of Christian Burial. The Ladies of the Rosary Sodality, St. Anne’s Society and the Italian Ladies Society formed an Honor Guard during the Mass. IRON MOUNTAIN — Edna A. Heikkinen, age 81, of Crystal Falls passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Dickinson County Healthcare System. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, from 4-7 p.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be recited Friday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. James Anderson
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — James T. Anderson, “Uncle Jimmy,” passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 14, 2018, at age 66. He was the beloved husband for 47 years to Barbara Anderson (Nee Schmidt). Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home. Special thanks to CICU at St. Luke’s Hospital for their care and support. SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. —  Richard N. Laakaniemi, 80, of Cedar Grove and formerly of Hales Corners, Wis., went home to his heavenly Father on Sunday morning, May 27, 2018, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. A victory service to celebrate Dick’s life took place at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Hales Corners on June 3, with the Rev. Michael Eichstadt officiating. SUHANOUKVILLE, Cambodia — Thomas L. Mackie, a native of Crystal Falls, died on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Suhanoukville, Cambodia, where he had made his home since retirement from a job with United Airline class in Denver, Colo. some years ago. He is survived by a brother, William Mackie of Crystal Falls; a sister, Doreen Dalpra of Safford, Ariz.; and two step-brothers, Michael and Mark Schiavo, Crystal Falls. Two siblings, Jeanie and Brian, preceded him in death.

Jeffrey Cram
DENVER, Colo. — Jeffrey Paul Cram, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. He was born on Oct. 2, 1957, in Port Washington, Wis. to Paul John Cram and Joan Claire (Zautner) Gentry. He was a 1976 graduate of Forest Park High School and was an Air Traffic Controller in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1983. He served as the mayor of Crystal Falls from 1998 until 2002. Those whose lives were touched by Jeff are invited to the United Lutheran Church, 506 Superior Ave, Crystal Falls, MI at 1 p.m. CST on Saturday, June 9, to celebrate his life.
