Robert Benter

TIPLER, Wis. — Robert “Bob” L. Benter, 78, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. A visitation was held on Oct. 16 at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral service followed Pastor Dale Baumler having officiated. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River. The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Hospital for their compassion and care of Bob and all his family and friends. Virginia Byczek

IRON RIVER — Virginia “Dolly” Byczek, 87, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. CRYSTAL FALLS — Shawn M. Carlson, 55, of Crystal Falls and Iron Mountain, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at his home. Visitation will be held from 3 - 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, with Father Michael Chenier reciting prayers at 4:45 p.m. Friends may leave condolences and tributes for Shawn’s family online at www.jacobsfuneralhomes.com In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to The Trevor Project, Dickinson Trail Network, or any charity that supports science education. The family has chosen Jacobs Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Iron Mountain, to honor Shawn’s legacy of life.

Bonita Pollock

ITASCA, Ill. — Bonita “Bonnie” Smith Pollock, of Itasca and Crystal Falls, passed away. Visitation and funeral were held Oct. 12 at The Oaks Funeral Home and at Saint Peter the Apostle Church.
