IRON RIVER — John “Jack” J. Anderson, age 90, passed away on Sunday, Aug.16, 2020, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 24, 1929, in Stambaugh, the son of the late Enoch and Louise (Baumgartner) Anderson. He attended and  graduated from the Stambaugh High School, with the class of 1947. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea.

Jack married Eunice Clement on Aug. 22, 1959, in Marquette. The couple celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2019.

He was employed as a machinist at the M.A. Hanna Mine for 23 years. Jack also worked at the Iron County Medical Care Facility until his retirement. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building and mechanical work and making and stacking firewood.

Jack is survived by his wife, Eunice; son, Michael J. (Kathy) Anderson of Lake City, Minn.; daughter, Karen Anderson (Rolando Gomez) of Green Bay, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Tim, Emily, Ben, Kasandra and Isabella; extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sons, Thomas J. and Gregory J. Anderson; brother, Donald Anderson; and sisters, Louise Vaccari and Agnes Anderson.

Visitation was held Aug. 20 at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services followed at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase offering the Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was at Resthaven Cemetery.
