Veteranss program slated for area schools
CRYSTAL FALLS—Katy (Lee) Gable will be the speaker for the Veterans Day program at Forest Park High School on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Eddie Chambers Gym.
Chris Sholander will be the master of ceremonies and the East Side Veterans Color Guard will present the colors. The national anthem will be played by the Forest Park band (8th grade through seniors). The pledge of allegiance will be led by the president of the 2015 class, Jordyn Blank.
After Gable speaks, the East Side Vets will fold the American flag, and Sholander will read off what each fold represents. The closing remarks will be given by FPHS Student Council President Adel Isaacson.
At 2 p.m., the East Side Vets Color Guard will hold a program at the Iron County Medical Care Facility to honor all vets there. The public is welcome to honor these vets.
IRON RIVER—The West Iron County Veteran’s Day program activities will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 11.
A full breakfast will be served at 9 a.m., with the program following at 10 a.m. The program will take place in the high school commons.
