According to a press release from UPSET, after a month-long investigation, detectives obtained information that resulted in a search warrant at a residence located at 310 Blossom Ave. Prior to executing the search warrant, detectives obtained informa-
tion that the suspects were in possession of illegal narcotics and a loaded pistol.
Since the suspects’ residence was in proximity of a school, the Iron River Police Department notified school officials at West Iron County of the police-related activity in the area. The school was temporarily placed on lockdown until the suspects were taken into custody.
After executing the search warrant, detectives located various prescription pills, evidence of drug distribution and two firearms.
The fourth suspect has been charged but not yet arraigned as of Sept. 23. Therefore, no name has been released.
All four suspects were lodged at the Iron County Correctional Facility on Sept. 19. The investigation remains ongoing. UPSET did not release any other information.
UPSET was assisted by the Iron River Police Department, Caspian Police Department, Iron County Sheriff’s Department, and Michigan State Police.
