Rabik arraigned in assault case

CRYSTAL FALLS—A Caspian man involved in a domestic violence assault on Oct. 16 was arraigned on three charges in Iron County Trial Court on Oct. 29.
    Jon Michael Rabik, 36, was charged with one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation (a 10-year felony), one count of felonious assault with a knife (a four-year felony) and one count of domestic violence (a 93-day misdemeanor.)
    Rabik was also given a habitual offender fourth notice. According to the criminal complaint, Rabik was previously convicted of resisting an officer in Florida in 2005, neglect by a legal custodian in
South Carolina in March and breaking and entering in Iron County in October.
    The habitual offender notice can increase the penalties of the primary offense to life.
    Rabik is being held in the Iron County Correctional Facility.  No bond was set because of a revocation of bond in a previous case.
