Pair jailed on prior drug cases
CRYSTAL FALLS—Two Iron River men were jailed last week in connection with recent drug arrests.
Tyler Daniel Ferrara, 32, was sentenced to five months in jail on April 27 in Iron County Trial Court. Ferrara had pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of heroin--less than 25 grams. He was also put on two years of probation, was given credit for six days served and will be entered into the Swift-and-Sure drug court program.
Ferrara and co-defendant Brittany Lynn Guertin, 24, of Iron River were arrested on Jan. 21 after a search warrant was executed by the Iron River Police Department. Guertin pleaded not guilty to one felony count of possession of heroin--less than 25 grams. Guertin’s sentencing is scheduled for May 11.
Ferrara will be housed in the Iron County Correctional Facility.
Also, Justin Eugene Gollakner, 26, was arrested on April 30 on three outstanding warrants. Gollakner failed to appear for his jury trial April 28 on a felony charge of delivery of oxycodone--less than 50 grams. Gollakner also had outstanding warrants on a probation violation and one from a misdemeanor disturbing the peace charge stemming from an incident at Riverside Plaza parking lot on March 14.
Gollakner was originally arrested with three other Iron River residents as part of an Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team investigation on Dec. 3, 2014. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Gollakner is currently lodged at the Iron County Correctional Facility pending a May 11 court appearance.
