MDOT U.S. 2 project starts

IRON RIVER—The Michigan Department of Transportation announced that its project on U.S. 2 from North River Avenue to the Bates-Amasa Road was to begin Monday.
MDOT said it is investing approximately $2.9 million to mill, resurface and reseal 3.9 miles of that stretch of U.S. 2. One alternating lane will be open via traffic regulators. The project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety and will extend the lifespan of the road, MDOT said.
The project includes a three-year pavement and workmanship warranty.
The estimated completion date is Aug. 30, 2019.
