CRYSTAL FALLS— The Humongous Fungus Fest is mushrooming into a bigger event with added activities. This year’s festival will be held on Aug. 25 - 26.
On Friday and Saturday, visitors cap off the fun with Sidewalk Sales and a city-wide rummage sale.
The Fungus Fest Parade will roll down Superior Avenue at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The theme set by the Crystal Falls Business Association is “Journey to the Fungus.”
On Saturday, the Vendor Village will sprout up in the city parking lot. Crafts, food fares and more will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A car show will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Northern Interstate Bank parking lot.
The Harbour House will host the Mushroom Cook-Off on Saturday and will also be selling mushroom burgers.
Two mushroom forays will be taking place, must sign up in advance.
The Journey, five top metro-Detroit area musicians compose the ultimate tribute band that faithfully recaptures the thrill that generations of Journey fans remember, will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday night at the Crystal Theatre.
