Ironwood commission thanks Central Dispatch receives tribute

CRYSTAL FALLS—Iron County Central Dispatch received a special tribute June 1 from the Ironwood City Commission for its assistance in battling a fire in February that destroyed two buildings and killed three people.
The tribute, in part, reads: “Let it be known that it is with utmost respect and appreciation that we honor the valiant First Responders of the Iron County Michigan Dispatch who aided the Ironwood Public Safety Department handling the devastating fire at 102 and 104 E. Aurora Street….
“These historic buildings were destroyed by that fire, but not before claiming three lives in its wake. More lives and buildings could have been lost had it not been for the dedicated team of First Responders.”
Iron County Central Dispatch provides services to Gogebic County through a mutual aid agreement.
