IR man accused of child abuse
CRYSTAL FALLS—An Iron River man has been charged with second degree child abuse and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, both 10-year felonies.
Jesse James Winkler, 22, is accused of causing serious physical harm to a female child by yanking her arm and legs, causing them to break, and squeezing her ribs, causing them to fracture, according to the felony warrant.
No other information was released. The charges stem from an incident in November.
At a probable cause hearing on Monday, Winkler waived his preliminary examination and pleaded not guilty to both charges.
A pretrial conference has been scheduled for April 9.
