FP board works out plans for superintendent search
CRYSTAL FALLS — The importance of Forest Park’s selection process for its new superintendent was underscored during its Nov. 25 regular meeting.
The board sped through its agenda in just 13 minutes and then spent 90 minutes discussing the selection process with the man who will lead the search for candidates.
At its Oct. 28 regular meeting, the board conducted a smartphone interview with Michael Hill of the Michigan Leadership Institute. This time, it talked with Hill about the process in person.
Becky Waters will step down as superintendent at the end of the 2019-20 school year, and at the meeting Hill and the board worked out a timeline for finding a replacement:
--Feb. 14, application deadline.
--Feb. 24, select candidates for first-round interviews.
--March 7, first-round interviews.
