FP Board makes hiring decisions
CRYSTAL FALLS—With the start of a new school year just days away, hiring decisions were a major part of the Forest Park School Board’s Aug. 25 monthly meeting. Among them was a long-sought goal: hiring its own part-time speech therapist. Forest Park has been trying to fill that position for over a year and has had a number of frustrations along the way. Last year, it just could not find someone who had all the credentials required. It finally contracted with Superior Rehab Services of Marquette for a therapist who worked at Forest Park 1½ days per week. Forest Park not only had to pay the mileage but also the time the therapist spent driving back and forth to Marquette, along with the service itself. But now the search is over. The district hired Beth Diehl for the job. To view more, please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.
