Enjoy a full day of spring fun

IRON RIVER—The community will be buzzing on Saturday, April 13 with four spring events to enjoy.
The Live, Work, Play Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Iron County High School gym; Windsor Center Craft and Garden Fair will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Family Fair  at the Stambaugh Elementary gym is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Young’s will host an Easter party from 10 a.m. to noon.
“There’s something for everyone at the Live, Work, Play Show,” said Erika Lindwall, chamber director for the Iron County Economic Chamber Alliance. Lindwall explained that in addition to more than 50 exhibitors, attendees can enjoy tasty dishes from several local restaurants, fly fishing demonstrations and casting lessons, and gardening workshops provided by MSU Extension at 10 a.m. and noon in the high school cafeteria.
The Windsor Center Craft and Garden Fair has been a long-time favorite for those that enjoy hunting for local treasures. There are more than 50 vendors registered selling everything from homemade jams and breads, jewelry, art, wood carvings and more.
“This is one of our biggest shows of the year,” said Dawn Pisoni, Windsor Center event coordinator. “You’re sure to find something unique to take home.”
The Family Fun Fair, coordinated by several school groups in the Stambaugh Elementary gym, provides fun activities for families and supports the 4-H Pacesetters, West Iron County golf team, and the West Iron County School Association. This year, families can enjoy kids’ games, Scholastic book fair, gift basket raffle, and concessions.
The Young’s Easter party is a new addition to this year’s festivities and includes a variety of free activities for young children and students. Some of these include photos with the Easter Bunny, egg coloring, cookie decorating, and an egg hunt at 11 a.m. sharp for kids ages 12 and under. Parents are asked to provide their own baskets.
