Election Day 2017 Voters approve 911, sinking fund proposals

IRON COUNTY—Iron County voters approved a pair of ballot proposals and returned incumbents to office during the Nov. 7 general election.
The only county-wide issue on the ballot, to continue the phone surcharge that funds Iron County’s expanded 911 emergency phone system, got 83 percent backing from voters, with 1,117 in favor and 241 voting against.
The $2.70 per month surcharge per phone is now in place through the end of 2022.
