Driver injured in one-vehicle crash

IRON MOUNTAIN—A 27-year-old Amasa woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Jan. 9 on U.S. 2 near Fire Tower Road in Crystal Falls Township.
Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post troopers responded to the scene at approximately 3:55 p.m., MSP reported in a news release. The investigation determined that the vehicle being driven by the woman was traveling eastbound when the driver crossed the center line, nearly striking a westbound vehicle head-on. The driver of the eastbound vehicle overcorrected, lost control and drove off the road.
The vehicle rolled over multiple times, and the driver was ejected. The driver was transported to Aspirus Iron River Hospital.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, MSP reported. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The name of the driver was not released.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Department and Aspirus ambulance assisted at the scene.
