LAURIUM — Residents of Iron and Ontonagon counties and their surrounding areas no longer need to travel to receive women’s health services. Aspirus Health expanded access to these important services to meet the growing needs of patients. Certified Nurse Midwife Allison Harr, DNP, CNM, is now seeing patients at Aspirus Iron River and Aspirus Ontonagon.
“We are excited to offer the highest levels of specialty care close to home,” said Rhonda Buckallew, director of clinics for Aspirus. “Women’s health is very important for women of all ages, and now they have much quicker access to care no matter what age or stage they might be going through.”
Harr is board certified by American Midwifery and has experience in high-risk OB/GYN settings. She provides direct patient care for prenatal, postnatal, colposcopies, IUD placement, well-woman exams and endometrial biopsies.
“Women’s health is a journey,” Harr said. “I enjoy empowering women to make healthy choices about lifestyle and wellness. I look forward to expanding these services throughout the Upper Peninsula.”
Aspirus now offers midwifery care at all its Michigan hospital locations.
