Arrest made for pot plants
IRON RIVER—A 27-year old man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of a large number of marijuana plants and other items, including three firearms, from a home at 1600 Altone St. in the Forbes Location, the Iron River Police Department reported Jan. 20.
The male subject was arrested in the village of Ashwaubenon near Green Bay by the Oneida Police Department on Jan. 16, the same day a search warrant was executed on the Iron River residence, IRPD Police Chief Laura Frizzo said. Law enforcement personnel in Brown County learned the suspect was staying at a hotel in the area and were able to alert the proper authorities. The suspect was taken into custody at the hotel without incident and is currently being held in the Brown County jail awaiting extradition.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
On Jan. 19, Iron County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Powell authorized charges against the suspect for delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance, felony firearm, stalking and interfering with a police investigation, Frizzo reported.
