Anderson to appeal murder conviction
GRAND FORKS, N.D.—An Iron River man convicted of fatally stabbing another Iron River man in a North Dakota oil patch crew camp is appealing his murder conviction, the Associated Press reported last week.
Ryan Anderson, 33, is appealing his conviction in the death of 32-year-old Christopher King.
A jury in August found Anderson guilty of killing King in March 2013. Anderson was sentenced earlier this month to 20 years in prison.
According to the Williston (N.D.) Herald, Anderson has maintained he stabbed King in self-defense. Authorities say the attack was part of an early morning alcohol-fueled dispute at the Capitol Lodge mancamp near Ray, N.D.
