Amasa man cited in crash
IRON MOUNTAIN—A 62-year-old Amasa man was cited for failure to yield the right of way leaving a private driveway, resulting in a three-car personal injury crash on U.S. 2 near the accessway to Home Depot in Iron Mountain on March 13, the Michigan State Police reported.
Troopers responded to the crash which took place at approximately 3:25 p.m. The investigation determined that the pickup truck operated by the Amasa man was attempting to enter onto U.S. 2 from the accessway of Home Depot when it struck an eastbound vehicle operated by a 36-year-old Niagara, Wis. man. The collision caused the eastbound vehicle to collide with a westbound vehicle operated by a 73-year-old Green Bay man who was waiting to turn in the center lane.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to Dickinson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
No names were released.
Assisting at the scene were the Iron Mountain Police Department, the Breitung Township Fire Department, Beacon Ambulance, Integrity Care EMS, Town and Country Towing and L.R. Vincent Towing.
