‘Items of significance’ found in Caspian Pit

IRON RIVER—The Iron River Police Department announced Oct. 15 that “items of significance” related to the missing person case of an Iron River man have been retrieved from the Caspian Pit in Leo Remondini Jr. Memorial Park in Caspian.
The IRPD and the FBI conducted a search of the pit last week as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Christopher Regan. IRPD Police Chief Laura Frizzo said in a press release that several searches have been conducted in the investigation, and these searches include the residence of persons last believed to have had contact with Regan. Those residents have since left Michigan, Frizzo stated.
Regan was last seen on Oct. 14, 2014, in Iron River. The investigation is active and ongoing, Frizzo said.
Individuals with information that may be pertinent to the investigation or to the search are asked to contact the Iron River Police Department at 906-265-4321 or the Marquette office of the FBI at 906-226-2058.
The IRPD is offering a $2,000 reward, underwritten by Michigan Backcountry Search and Rescue, for any information leading to an arrest and conviction if foul play is involved in this case.
