Duo leads FP Great Lakes Eight reps

CRYSTAL FALLS — Forest Park seniors Tommy Showers and Gabe Scarlassara led a seven-player Trojan contingent on the 2020 Great Lakes Eight all-conference team after a vote by conference coaches.
    Showers was picked to the all-conference team as a defensive end, while Scarlassara was selected to the squad as hybrid defensive player.
    The conference is split into a West Division and an East Division. Trojans on the West team included Scarlassara, Showers, junior Timmy Bendick, sophomore Will Curtis and senior Mason Rintala. Reagan Alder and Kyler Rouse were given honorable mention.
    The Great Lakes Eight Conference team of the year was North Central. Jets sophomore Luke Gorzinski was picked as the offensive player of the year, while Cedarville’s Grant Fountain was selected at the defensive player of the year.
    Coach of the year was Scott Barr of Cedarville.
