Sunny Sunday on the ice

The tip-up flag popped up and Maddie Ghiotto (right) pulled a northern pike up through the fishing hole in the ice. She got help landing the catch from her friend and classmate Daphne Papatriantafyllou. The girls were fishing with their dads (Jason Ghiotto and Andrew Papatriantafyllou) on Sunset Lake on Jan. 24. The lake was covered with a good layer of insulating snow and the ice was 10-12 inches thick. (submitted photo)
