Cook pleads not guilty to CSC charges

CRYSTAL FALLS — A Caspian man pleaded not guilty to three charges of second degree criminal sexual conduct during the time frame of May to December of 2020.
Russell Andrew Cook, 30, was arraigned Jan. 25 on the charges of engaging in sexual contact with a person under 13 years of age. Through his attorney Abbey Anderson, Cook pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Each second degree CSC charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a lifetime electronic monitoring upon parole from prison.
The initial pre-trial conference is scheduled for Feb. 22 at 8:45 a.m. A final pre-trial conference is slated for April 5 at 9 a.m. and a jury trial is set for May 4 and May 5.
