If you were at the 35th, Iron County Wildlife Unlimited banquet this past Saturday night, you may have noticed that it was dedicated to Robbie Ivey. Robbie was diagnosed at a young age with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Even though it has slowly taken his physical abilities, it has never dampened his spirit.

Robbie has participated with Iron County Wildlife Unlimited since he was young, starting with the Youth Hunt Program. Implementing technologies, and Robbie’s ideas, Wildlife Unlimited was able to customize a hunting trailer throughout the years allowing hunters like Robbie and countless others to continue enjoying the outdoors.

Wildlife Unlimited presented Robbie with a plaque that reads, “We would like to honor Robbie Ivey for his dedication to Wildlife Unlimited and for his strength and inspiration to all that love the outdoors.” He is pictured here with his two hunting buddies, Larry Pifke and Dave Painter, that have accompanied him on many of his successful hunts.

Through Robbie’s passion for the outdoors, and the help of Limited Mobility Solutions LLC, there have been giant technological steps made that go far and beyond hunting. Through his inspiration there are now beds being created that allow for full voice command, and much more, saving caregivers over 50,000 hours so far. Robbie’s constant positive attitude, and drive to better the community seem to have no end.

Robbie is living proof that no matter what life throws at us, with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. Next time you see Robbie take a minute to have a conversation with him, and who knows what he will inspire next.
