CRYSTAL FALLS - Competing against 42 other teams at Lake State University, the Forest Park Trojan Power Robotics team was awarded the Rookie all star award. This award celebrates the rookie team exemplifying a young but strong partnership effort, as well as implementing the mission of FIRST to inspire students to learn more about science and technology.

This award is given to a team that shows true partnership between school or organization and sponsors.

Trojan Power Robotics plans to conduct robot demonstrations of their competition robot to outreach to students within the school and show the stages of design from concept to reality. Another award criteria is the team understands what FIRST is really trying to accomplish – realizes that technical stuff is fun, challenging and offers a future and has built a robot appropriate to the game’s challenges.

Robotics is a great opportunity for students to apply topics learned in school and watch them come to life. It also teaches the value of cooperation in that schools that may exist as rivals in other sporting events, become partners to team up for success. If you are interested in watching a robot demonstration or want to learn more about the robotics program please reach out to bwaara@fptrojans.org.
