CASPIAN — The Iron County Historical Museum will present “Songs of Hope: A Concert of Carols” to be performed live on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. on 99.1 FM WIKB and Facebook. The concert is part of this year’s Christmas Tree Galleria Fundraiser to benefit the Iron County Museum, taking place from Monday, Nov. 30 to Sunday, Dec. 6.
“Since there won’t be a Christmas in Lights parade this year, we thought we would still try to spread Christmas cheer on that day with this concert of carols,” explained Erika Sauter, museum director and one of the musicians performing. “Of course, we would love to be singing for a big live audience, but radio is the next best thing and even more accessible so those who are unable to leave home can enjoy it.”
The concert will feature piano and guitar duets of favorite Christmas carols and songs matched with bright vocals from Sauter and Kevin Johnson. The two musicians have played together for more than 10 years, but this will be the first time the duo will perform an entire concert. The museum is partnering with Iron River Community Broadcasting and Interpose Productions to stream the concert on 99.1 FM WIKB and Facebook.com/IronCountyMuseum.
“This has been a hard time for our community, so we hope folks will tune in and enjoy ‘Songs of Hope’ and kindle that spirit of joy and peace this season brings,” Sauter said.
