IRON RIVER - The West Iron District Library in Iron River is excited to offer patrons a brand new digital benefit of their library card. Hoopla is a web and mobile library media streaming platform launched in 2010 for audio books, comics, e-books, movies, games, music and TV. Patrons can download Hoopla as an app on tablets and smartphones as well as Roku, FireTV and AppleTV services.

Patrons can borrow up to 10 titles per month, the limit resetting on the first day of each month. An added benefit, Hoopla’s signature Binge Pass allows a person to borrow an entire collection of movies, TV, music or book titles using only one title allowance! The Hoopla Binge Pass includes collections like Hallmark Movie Collection, Puzzle Palace, R.L. Stine’s Spine Chiller Collection, comics, STEAM Powered Kids, Highlights for Kids Collection, Curiosity Stream and more!

“The world around us becomes more and more digital each and every day. It is our goal at the library to continue to provide a welcoming, interactive space with physical items to browse and in-house programs for creativity and socializing, while also introducing new services to our patrons that provide the convenience of watching or listening on the go. It is a great thing to witness libraries being so relevant and integral to so many patrons in so many different ways in our community.” noted WIDL director, Stephanie Swenski. There is also the option to sign children up using their library card on an all Kids Mode, which is password protected by parents, allowing children to only view content geared towards ages 12 and under.

Patrons can sign up for a new account today for free on hoopladigital.com or download the Hoopla app using your library card and your card’s associated PIN (the last four numbers of your phone number). If patrons have questions, please call the West Iron District Library at 906-265-2831.
