CRYSTAL FALLS — The Crystal Falls District Community Library will resume its Global Explorer Story Hour series on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The featured country for November is Mexico. The books to be read include “The Day of the Dead,” by Bob Barner; “Dreamers,” by Yuyi Morales; “Miguel and the Grand Harmony,” by Newbery Medal winner Matt de la Pena; “Daniela’s Day of the Dead,” by Lisa Bullard; and “Dia De Los Muertos,” by Roseanne Greenfield Thong. The craft project for the event is a glow-in-the-dark lantern.
Due to the current restrictions on size of gatherings, the library will limit story hours to four children at a time to allow for social distancing. Masks will be required.
Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, the children will be able to take their treat and juice box home, rather than eat them at the library.
Each child will also receive a book about Mexico to take home to keep for their home library.
Those interested in having their child/children attend one of the Global Explorer Story Hours on Mexico are asked to call 875-3344 or email the library at egathu@uproc.lib.mi.us to reserve a space.
“We ask that only one parent accompanies the child/children to the event,” director Evelyn Gathu said. “Thank you for understanding our necessary precautions, and we hope that you can join us at the library to learn more about our wonderful world.”
