UPPER PENINSULA — Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! wants U.P. residents to send their resumes to job centers before traveling to deer camp.
Through a 15-day, concerted effort to place job seekers with employers, U.P. Michigan Works! is joining other Michigan Works! agencies throughout the state to combat the negative economic effects COVID-19 has placed on businesses.
UPMW is hosting a virtual “Resume Drive” from Nov. 1-15 to supply guidance and help to job seekers in the Upper Peninsula. When resumes are sent to a UPMW staff member, they will help job seekers refine their resumes and assist in securing meaningful employment.
Resumes can be e-mailed to resume@upmichiganworks.org or hand-delivered to a UPMW center. Call a local job center at 1-800-285-9675 or visit upmichiganworks.org for more information about locations and job seeker services.
Michigan Works! employment staff will provide job seekers with one-on-one guidance as they share their knowledge and experience regarding the job search process and how to craft the most effective resume.
UPMW, after refining a resume, will deliver it to local employers who are looking to hire talented job seekers. Between resume delivery and an interview, UPMW will provide targeted assistance in the form of coaching and interview preparation.
For more information about this event or other job seeker services, such as interview preparation and programmatic, eligibility-based funding, visit upmichiganworks.org or call 1-800-285-9675.
