IRON RIVER — The Windsor Center recently accepted a totally rebuilt grand piano donated by John Richtig, owner of Thunder Island Music of Iron Mountain.
Richtig rebuilt the piano and said it will serve the needs of the Windsor Center for many years to come, George Peterson of the Friends of the Windsor Center said.
“The icing on the cake came when the Carrie-Jacobs Bond Quilters Guild offered to make a piano cover to protect the new arrival,” Peterson added. “The cover is truly a work of art and an indication of the skill and craftsmanship the Guild puts into each and every item.”
In addition to John Richtig and the Quilters, other volunteers that made the transition possible include Dan Ziegler, Mark Klink, Jim Dettlaff, Kraig and Vivan Tass, Mike Stafford, Curt Poulos, and Terry Girard.
