IRON RIVER— Adults who love travel and culture are encouraged to attend the West Iron District Library’s “Armchair Airline” program Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Attendees can enjoy an interactive presentation on the history and culture of Peru, sample foods from the country and take home a featured spice. Bexi Spanos, the WIDL’s front desk manager, grew up in Peru and will share photos and authentic treasures from her life and subsequent trips following the presentation.

“This is your chance to sample the flavors and culture of Peru from the comfort of our climate-controlled conference room,” said Erika Sauter, Program Coordinator. “It’s free to attend and will include several imported foods and some homemade Peruvian recipes.” This is the third in the Armchair Airline program series featured at the WIDL.

Sauter shared details about what attendees can expect. “This hour-long program features an interactive presentation, giving ‘travelers’ a taste of the culture, history, popular sites and food from that nation,” she said. “Folks will also be able to take home a featured spice from Peru, as well as a few recipes to try.” RSVP is appreciated for this program, but walk-ins are welcome.
