Body

Market Steers and 4-H Club members took advantage of some of the last ice of the season. The club enjoyed a day on the lake learning about ice fishing. 4-H members safely learned and participated in a life-long outdoor recreational activity with avenues for teamwork, communication, personal growth and achievement. Youths were encouraged to build friendships through an afternoon of fishing. 4-H adult volunteers Andy, Jan, Robyn and Lisa were instrumental in helping envision, organize and lead this outdoor adventure.

The Market Steers and 4-H Club offers youth the opportunity to learn about a variety of project areas including the outdoors, animals, gardening, pollinators, community service, crafts and more! 4-H is open to youth ages 5-19 and offers members the opportunity to explore their interests.

For more information about joining 4-H and 4-H opportunities in the area please contact Anne Kretschmann, 4-H Program Coordinator, Michigan State University Extension office at 906-875-0604 or kretsc11@msu.edu. (Submitted photos)
