Forest Park School students created an in-class museum exhibit dedicated to the history of logging, mining and the railroad in Iron County. This project was fashioned by the Harbour House Museum and Mary Ann Harrington with the help of 6th and 7th graders under the supervision of Kurt Anderson and Maryann Johnson’s freshman class. They created a model showing where the railroads were located, as well as where mines and logging camps were, with models of the logging dams, mine shafts and railroad depots. Museum artifacts and donations were used in the exhibits. On June 7, the logging and mining exhibit will open at the Harbour House. Students pictured, from left, are Kaden Graves, Jaime Adams, Daniel Franz, Becky Takala, Sara Schiavo, Emily Dobson, Riagan Alcantara, Jared Anderson, Noah Anaya and Kailee Abts.
