Laundry: step one

Alpha museum starts work on 100-year book

ALPHA—The Alpha Historical Museum is now open for the season. The museum is open June through August on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and by special appointment.

Women from across the county along with visitors and campers gathered at Bewabic State Park on June 18 for the Total Woman in the Outdoors program, sponsored by the park and NorthStar Health System. Those who chose to go out onto the water at Fortune Lake were given lessons in kayaking and paddle boarding.

 
Top Elvis tribute band EAS at FOCB concert

IRON RIVER—The Friends of Camp Batwagama (FOCB) has announced that it has signed the much sought-after EAS band from Chicago for the upcoming “Elvis Is in the House” concerts on July 10 and 12 at the Windsor Center in Iron River.

Covenant Church sets concert series

IRON RIVER—Grace Covenant Church has announced the lineup for the 2013 Summer Concert Series, which features pianist Huntley Brown with Don Shire on the trumpet, the Sonshine Quartet with pianist Jim Plougher and The Cody Clauson Trio.
