16th Annual Iron County Parenting Fair scheduled for March 20

IRON RIVER—The 16th Annual Iron County Parenting Fair will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on March 20 at the West Iron District Library. The general theme is “Parenting is for a Lifetime.”

 
Fundraiser to be held for horse arena

IRON RIVER—A spaghetti and chicken dinner fundraiser will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Mapleton Inn on March 16. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12 for the meal which is dine in or take out.

 
Luncheon, concert set

IRON RIVER—The PW Auxiliary of First Presbyterian Church, will host its annual “Soup ‘N Bread” luncheon with a concert by White Water beginning at noon on Sunday, March 16.

Snowboarders, skiers and sledders at Crystella Ski hill aren’t getting sick of winter--they are enjoying the snow. Crystella recently received another generous equipment donation from Bob Flood of Railwerx.  The new rails were placed on the hill a couple of weeks ago. Community member Paul Hegstrom recently gave ski and snowboard lessons at the hill located in Crystal Falls. Crystella is open on Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

CRYSTAL FALLS—Art students at Forest Park High School have joined the Memory Project, a nationwide initiative in which art students create portraits for children and teens around the world who are living in orphanages or similar homes.

WIKB radio-thon set for March 6

IRON RIVER—The Iron County Cancer Unit board of directors invites everyone to participate in a March 6 radio-thon on radio station WIKB.
The fundraising event will begin at 9 a.m. during the Telephone Time program. Donations can be made until noon.
