Dave and Rhonda Wickerham have taken over as the new managers at the Crystal Theatre. They replace Charlie and Sherry Sandstrom. CRYSTAL FALLS—The curtain is rising on new management at Crystal Theatre: Charlie and Sherry Sandstrom are retiring as the theatre’s management team, and Dave and Rhonda Wickerham have been selected to replace them. “Under the Sandstroms’ leadership, Crystal Theatre has become a popular venue for live entertainment,” says Board President Geoff Lawrence. “We’re thankful for their years of hard work and dedication.

IRON RIVER—The seventh annual Holiday In Lights celebration will provide a full day’s entertainment here this Saturday, Dec. 1. The Holiday In Lights Arts and Crafts Fair at the Windsor Center kicks off at 9 a.m., with more than 30 vendors offering hand-made crafts and works of art plus clothing, jewelry and more. The craft fair runs until 3 p.m.

Madelyn and Braeden Adamson enjoy a day out with baby sister Leila Hope. The trio are children of James and Kari Adamson of Fond du Lac, Wis.. Their grandparents, David and Barbara Adamson, are organizers of the Dec. 15 Miracles of Christmas fundraiser for Noah’s Never Ending Rainbow. The concert and organization support families of children with trisomy disorders. Leila suffers from trisomy 18. IRON RIVER—Plans for a Miracles of Christmas concert at the Windsor Center are coming together with contributions of entertainment, food and raffle prizes from both individuals and businesses.

IRON RIVER—A group that wants to pass a Constitutional amendment that would nullify the U.S. Supreme Court’s “Citizens United” decision will hold an organizational meeting here on Thursday, Nov. 29. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and takes place at The Station, located on M-189 several blocks south of the U.S. 2/M-189 intersection.

Customers and employees of Angeli Foods Co. joined forces to donate $1,466.70 to Iron County Cancer Unit for Breast Cancer Awareness. Customers donated the money by purchasing pink ribbons from store checkers. The cancer unit is a non-profit, volunteer organization that serves cancer patients throughout the county. Andy Busakowski of Central Arts and Gifts and Lisa Woods of Iron County Kinship show two books by Iron River native Ramon E. Bisque. Both Busakowski and Bisque have committed to donate their proceeds from the books’ sales to Kinship. IRON RIVER—An Iron River native turned author has pledged to help a local youth program by donating proceeds from two of his books. “Iron: A River, a Town, a County, a Mine, a Family” and “Unseen Cairns” are books penned by Ramon E. Bisque. Both books are available from Central Arts and Gifts, with proceeds going to the Kinship program, according to store owner Andy Busakowski.

Visitors to the Borderland Vegans initiatory meeting Nov. 10 snacked on vegan treats after watching “Forks over Knives.” In addition to the fruit and vegetable fare, visitors found a variety of dips and cookies plus hummus and homemade chips.
