CRYSTAL FALLS—The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary, Tufts Rondon VFW Post 2891 was Nov. 8. Thirteen members were present at the meeting. The auxiliary accepted four new members.

Start your holidays at Porter School craft show

ALPHA—The Porter School Market Place is kicking off the holiday season with the first of two Christmas craft shows.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, the halls of the old Porter School building will be decked with holly for shoppers and crafters. The Christmas Craft Show runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday night was all right for frighting, as Halloween parties were held all over Iron County Oct. 27. In Amasa, the top floor of the museum was converted into a spook house, complete with fog, scary sounds, spiderwebs and someone popping out of a coffin. Oh my! The cast included (from left) Pegge Gerry, Selina Stebbins, Kelly Mullinax, Tanya Pascenti and Donna Sjoquist.

Red Cross seeking county volunteers

IRON COUNTY— The American Red Cross is seeking local volunteers to provide local disaster relief services.
“Right now, there is no one in Iron County to provide emergency services after a disaster,” according to American Red Cross Emergency Service Program Manager Jeffrey Selesky. “The sole function of the group is to work with victims of disaster.”
