IRON RIVER—It’s too early for actual high school football action—practice doesn’t officially start until Aug. 11 and the first games are Aug. 28—but Iron County enjoyed its own little pigskin preview last week when the annual Iron County Football Camp was held.

CRYSTAL FALLS—In 2013, the annual Wop-Swede softball game lasted 12 grueling innings before the Italians eked out an 13-11 win. It was one of the closest games ever in the storied ethnic rivalry.
