CRYSTAL FALLS—In their final tune-up before the Skyline Conference tournament, Forest Park’s boys and girls track teams both finished second during a four-team meet held at North Dickinson May 22. The meet, let’s face it, was more relaxed than most. Many students didn’t run in their normal events, opting to try out others instead. For example, the girls sprint relay team ran the two-mile relay, and vice versa.

IRON RIVER—A gray, damp day was just fine for West Iron’s track team, as the Wykons had a big day during their Division 2 regional tournament, held at Nelson Field on May 17. The girls team rolled to first place with 75 points, well ahead of second place Westwood (41) and third place Ironwood (32). That was no surprise. The boys team, however, did raise a few eyebrows with a strong showing and a second place finish with 46 points. Ironwood won with 58, and Westwood was third at 33.
