Cat Advocates offers, seeks help
To the editor:
Last year, Cat Advocates began a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program in Florence in response to a longstanding concern about overpopulation of feral cats, also referred to as wild or unowned cats. In an effort to work on the problem in the most humane way possible, we have teamed up with an area veterinarian and other low-cost spay/neuter services.

Thanks to the Bike Shop
To the editor:
Thanks to the owner of the Bike Shop that used to be located on Third Street in Stambaugh when I was a young man (probably I was 8 to 14 years of age at that time, and now I’m 49 years old).

Delayed
museum project in progress
To the editor:
Those people driving past the Iron County Historical Museum in Caspian may wonder when they see stacks of logs and partially torn down buildings in the Logging Camp and the Homestead areas if buildings on those two areas on the grounds are being removed. They are not. The delayed project of restoration and repair is now in progress after weeks of poor weather, additional planning, and procuring volunteers and a contractor. The first thanks goes to the Museum Board and staff for their diligence in getting the work started.

Plaudits for pianist Meyer

To the editor:
The Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls had a jaw-dropping performance by pianist Frederick Moyer last weekend. People left the theatre in awe of his skill on the theatre’s Steinway Concert D piano. They said he was by far the best performing artist who performed at the theatre. The next day the board received the following letter:

To the editor:
A sincere thank you to all who participated in the Iron County Museum’s grand opening program on May 31. To a background of happy music by Sally Blyze, the Golden K men provided and served delicious pancakes. Thank you, Golden K!  The Classic Farm Machinery group added interest to our day with their display of tractors and a demonstration of old equipment. Very fascinating
